RYAN STUDIO: Oil paintings by Abbey Ryan
I am a painter living in Philadelphia. Inspired by the daily painting practice, I began a daily painting project at my blog, Ryan Studio, on 23 September 2007. I still paint daily, but I now post just a few paintings per week, and the paintings are usually sold by eBay auction. Below each painting on my blog, there is a link to view the auction. For this project, I primarily practice still life painting, although whenever I am traveling, I love to paint seascapes and landscapes. I credit the foundation of my method to my teacher, David Leffel, at the Art Students League of New York. My work has been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the United States and Europe. Recent exhibitions include a solo exhibition at the Fleisher Art Memorial, Philadelphia; Affinity, a four-person exhibition at Mt. Airy Contemporary Artists Space, Philadelphia; and group exhibitions at 110 Church Gallery and The Painted Bride Gallery in Philadelphia, Elliott Fouts Gallery in Sacramento, Rosenfeld Gallery in Philadelphia, and Gleason Fine Art in Portland, Maine.
